Взаимствах доста от нещата от един пичага във фейсбук групите на FM, а и предполагам тук има немалко хора, които са фенове на поредицата, макар да я развалиха последно време. Та идеята ми е да “натиснем” SEGA и Sports Interactive, които са създателите на играта, защото продължаваме да сме представяни доста по-зле от очакваното, в сравнение с реалността, а на фона на класирането в Европа, боя в първия мач над Макаби и отстраняването им, отстраняването на Карабах преди това и предстоящото евроучастие и откриване на стадион, би било редно да отразят реалността в играта в следващото издание, което излиза през ноември.

Dear SEGA and Sports Interactive Development Team,
I would like to respectfully bring to your attention several issues regarding the representation of CSKA Sofia in Football Manager. I fully understand that maintaining an accurate database for thousands of clubs and players around the world is an enormous task, and I appreciate the work that goes into keeping the game as realistic as possible. However, I believe that some aspects of CSKA’s current situation are significantly underrepresented and deserve another look.
First of all, CSKA’s stadium is 50% owned by the club and 50% by the state. The land is granted by the state, while the club’s owner has invested his own funds — more than €100 million so far — into the club’s various facilities and infrastructure. In the game, these investments are essentially represented as a loan. This creates a very misleading picture of the club’s financial situation. The owner is portrayed almost as if he has no available resources, despite having invested more than €150 million in CSKA in less than 24 months.
There is also major progress in terms of infrastructure. CSKA is preparing to open its new stadium in September 2026, with 17,376 all-seater places and a UEFA 4-star rating. At the same time, the training complex in Pancharevo is currently being built and further developed. In fact, CSKA has one of the most modern training facilities not only in Bulgaria, but in Eastern Europe. This is an important part of the club’s current project, yet it is essentially ignored in the game.
CSKA also has a B team competing in the Bulgarian Second League, with its home matches being played at the Pancharevo complex. This is another important part of the club’s structure and player-development system that should ideally be reflected in the database.
On the sporting side, CSKA won the Bulgarian Cup this year, and considering the club’s investment, infrastructure and current ambitions, it would be reasonable for the club to have a somewhat stronger and more accurately represented squad in the game.
This summer, CSKA signed Jean-Philippe Gbamin, a player with extensive experience at the highest level, including Ligue 1, the Bundesliga and the Premier League, as well as European competition. Stefano Sensi was also signed — a former Inter Milan and Italy international who has played at the highest level in Serie A and European competitions. Their current representation should, in my opinion, better reflect their careers, experience and actual level.
There are also several existing CSKA players who deserve more accurate ratings and potential. Teodor Ivanov and Petko Panayotov are Bulgarian internationals who have shown significant development and should be represented accordingly. Young prospects such as Vasil Kaymakanov and Aleks Tunchev should also be given proper recognition as promising talents within the club’s developing squad. Fedor Lapoukhov has continued to develop and is already attracting attention from stronger clubs, while Angelo Martino has also developed considerably and has reportedly attracted interest from major South American clubs such as River Plate and Boca Juniors.
The squad also includes several players with strong profiles and experience:
Facundo Rodríguez is a former Estudiantes champion who has already proven himself at a high level in Argentina.
Maks Ebong is a Belarus international with significant international and European experience.
James Eto’o is a Cameroon international who has established himself at a good European level and has considerable room for further development.
Ioannis Pittas is a Cyprus international and one of the team’s proven attacking players.
Santiago Godoy is a talented young Argentine forward with significant potential and room for further development.
Joel Zwarts is an experienced Dutch forward who has played at a good level in European football and brings valuable experience to the squad.
To be completely fair and objective, there are also players who should probably not be rated higher at the moment. Léo Pereira and Alejandro Piedrahita are currently performing below the level expected of them, while Tamimou Ouorou, who was signed from Botev Vratsa, has also not yet shown enough to justify a particularly high rating.
However, when looking at the squad as a whole, I believe its overall quality, experience and potential are currently being underestimated.
This is also supported by CSKA’s actual performances in European competition this summer. CSKA eliminated Qarabağ in the Europa League after two draws and a penalty shootout. Qarabağ are regular participants in UEFA competitions and have considerably more European experience than most Bulgarian clubs. CSKA then went on to eliminate Maccabi Tel Aviv, another club that regularly participates in European competitions. These results demonstrate that CSKA is capable of competing with established European sides and should arguably have a stronger reputation and squad representation in the game.
There are also several database and competition-related issues that I believe could be reviewed. I previously raised Rule 4 and the possibility of registering a squad consisting entirely of foreign players if the club waives the solidarity fee, as well as the option to have seven non-EU players. These are important details regarding the actual rules and regulations governing Bulgarian football.
Another issue is the UEFA competition system. When a team is eliminated from the Champions League, it can continue its European campaign in the Europa League, and if it is eliminated there, it can continue in the Conference League, depending on the qualifying round. This pathway is also not accurately reflected in the game.
Overall, my intention is not to criticize the work of the database researchers or developers. I understand how difficult it is to maintain accurate information for every club in the world. Rather, I would simply ask that CSKA Sofia’s current situation be reviewed more thoroughly.
Considering all of this, I believe CSKA deserves a significantly more accurate and up-to-date representation in Football Manager, both financially and in terms of infrastructure, squad quality, player development and European reputation.
